We have all heard the saying… “It takes a village” when any change of magnitude is necessary.  Well, in the world of independent pharmacists, it takes a community.  In three short years, our community of pharmacies has grown to over 2,200 members! Together we are successfully improving our member’s bottom line, every day. It’s exciting and motivates us to continue to think of additional ways to enhance the site – just like our soon-to-be launched Returns service.

Members are buying and selling unwanted drugs at a rapidly growing pace – resulting in substantial savings at pharmacies across the country. Just a year ago, our marketplace averaged 13,000 postings for sale on any given day.  We now average over 32,000 postings, all priced at 10-90% below WAC.  Members selling what they don’t need to members that do, generating cash for sellers and improved gross margin for buyers.  It’s a win-win for the community.  Leveraging the benefits of our service has become

Our goal is to begin pre-registering members within 4-6 weeks.  With this feature, you can return expired drugs knowing exactly how much money you’re getting paid and when you will receive payment before being shipped from your pharmacy.  We are making the “Pack and Pray” method obsolete.

It doesn’t seem possible that we’re already approaching the end of the first quarter. But life moves fast – and business is moving even faster!

Attending the Pharmacy Development Services Business Growth Conference was a great experience for us. When you’re in close quarters with others who are innovating ways to boost the Independent Pharmacist’s bottom line, it’s incredibly rewarding. And as we’re headquartered in the Midwest, the Florida weather was a real bonus.

As we approach Major League Baseball’s opening day and a new season, we expect the Returns feature to be a home run!  By replacing the old “pack and pray” method of returning expired drugs, MatchRX members can count on transparency and guaranteed pricing. The result is a one-stop shop that quickly locates the best price and improves your bottom line.

New Affiliation: We partnered with PharmacyGPO, a professional buying group dedicated to Independent Pharmacy Business Owners. The executive team at PharmacyGPO constantly searches for innovative technologies and services to help create competitive advantages for their member base.

Member Voices/My MatchRX, My Story: We started asking members to write, send us video testimonials, or e-mail their personal stories about how MatchRX has assisted their pharmacy. The response was overwhelming and exceeded our expectations.

Viewing invoices by date: This feature was designed to help enhance your marketplace experience, allowing you to view any invoice by any day, week or month. Your accountant will
love this!

MatchRX.com 2.0: We listened to our members and improved the shopping experience with the launch of a new version of MatchRX . Improvements included a cleaner, easier Buy page providing quick
access to features like price comparisons, generic equivalents, storage requirements, and your purchase history.

Association Endorsements: The Texas Association of Independent Pharmacies and the Arizona Pharmacy Association endorsed both MatchRX.com and MatchRXchange.com, and is promoting registration to their members.

Viewing Seller’s Other Items: MatchRX innovated a way for you to quickly see all posted items offered by a seller while shopping the general marketplace. This helps you determine if you want to purchase multiple items from a seller before adding to your cart, saving you time and additional shipping charges.

2012 NCPA Annual Convention – San Diego: Our executive team was on site, meeting with current members and recruiting additional independent pharmacies to join the community. What a terrific event!

With the low reimbursements from the PBM’s I have watch every penny in order to make any profit, especially when patients insist on brand name. Often, I have been able to find a generic drug at a better price than my wholesaler is offering, especially on the slow-moving or unusual items. When I find an item I always check the seller’s listings to see if I can get something else to spread the shipping charges out.
One the selling side, I have been able to sell items that we ordered for a patient and they stopped taking it or items that might go outdated before we have a use for them. These items would otherwise go outdated and we would probably not get any credit for them.

The system is so easy, the people are so helpful, and it is almost like dealing with our neighboring pharmacies, only the prices are better.

At MatchRX, we keep growing – which means
you’re going to keep saving.

Over the past year, we’ve rolled out innovative, new features. In tandem, our membership keeps growing substantially, every month.

In just over two years, MatchRX has grown to over 2,000 members across 33 states. By building our “strength in numbers” it creates more and more opportunities for everyone in
the community.

We’re going into this year with the same level of dedication and innovation you experienced in 2012. There are breakthrough advantages ahead for our members. We’re rolling out a new feature on MatchRX – it’s a true game-changer. You’ll no longer “pack and pray” when returning your expired drugs.  We’ve partnered with a leading reverse distributor to give you full transparency regarding pricing and payment date on qualified returns.  And it’s only going to be available to MatchRX members.  In addition, we are marking 2013 as the year of referrals, and will be counting on our members to spread the word encouraging other independent pharmacists to join the community.

Of course, you’ll continue to get dedicated support from the staff at MatchRX. Strong communication is as important to us as it is our members. Updates, podcasts, tutorials and one-on-one conversations are about staying engaged, connected and successful.
