Our history
MatchRX has come a long way since we started in 2010.
Our President and second-generation independent pharmacist, Gabe Zawaldeh, worked in the family pharmacy from a young age and looked for ways to improve business and patient services. He wanted a solution to address streamlined purchasing, overstock prescription drugs, and short-supply medications. Gabe brought the idea to our CEO, Johny, and put together a great team.
And POW! MatchRX was born!

Founded in recognition of Santa Zawaideh, RPh—a dedicated Ferris State alumna and mother of our co-founder, Gabe Zawaideh, RPh— the Santa Zawaideh Scholarship at Ferris State University stands as a testament to her enduring devotion to independent pharmacy. Santa’s dedication to community health is echoed by her family, with three of her children also embracing careers as independent pharmacists.
Each year, MatchRX awards five pharmacy students scholarships to bright and deserving students dedicated to pursuing careers in independent pharmacy.
